The NBA champion L.A.Lakers made a bold move recently with the acquisition of Ron Artest, but how does this move fit in the bigger scheme of things? Also, coming off their recent championship victory, the Lakers had all the right pieces in place. So, why did they break up their roster and essentially trade up-and-comer, Trevor Ariza for hot headed and unpredictable, Ron Artest?

Sandoval Snubbed From All Star Lineup

The Giants Kung Fu Panda was overlooked this year for the All-Star roster. Shane Victorino of the Phillies overtook Sandoval for the 33rd roster spot on the NL All-Star team. I think the fans made a mistake by voting in Victorino. Victorino is a great player but does not have the numbers Sandoval has. Sandoval is hitting .328 with 13 home runs and 50 RBI’s He has 97 hits and is slugging at .561. All of these numbers are leading the Giants offensive production. Victorino is also having a good year but compared to the Panda’s numbers, he comes up short. Victorino is hitting .306 with only 6 home runs and 42 RBI’s and slugging .463.
